Jeffrey Hawkins

President

Jeffrey Hawkins began his career in Chicago as a lonely IT Manager for a mid-sized, now defunct, advertising agency, Jack Levy Associates. After several years there, he moved on to Jordan Tamraz Caruso (JTC) Advertising where he oversaw their much larger IT infrastructure. In 1998, he made the jump to the dot.com world with an opportunity at Frankel and Company, a large marketing agency with offices in Chicago and San Francisco. As head of the IT department in San Francisco, during the dot.com “rush” Mr. Hawkins was in charge of overseeing their transition from chiseling granite tablets to Microsoft Windows XP and Mac OS9. Several Chiropractors in the area went out of business as a result.

In 1998, Mr. Hawkins took a giant leap where he was thrust into the position of Regional Director of  IT for USWeb/CKS, once, if briefly, the world’s largest online strategy consulting and marketing company with 10,000 employees. Responsible for over 30 small and mid-sized offices throughout the western US, including the corporate headquarters South of Market in the heart of San Francisco’s tech district, Mr. Hawkins was charged with integrating the dispirit systems, infrastructures and IT support teams of all these offices, establishing corporate standards and best practices throughout the region. USWeb/CKS (which merged and became marchFIRST) was a victim of the dot.com bubble. Wikipedia says “While USWeb – marchFIRST’s lifespan was only about four years, it was one of the pioneers of the industry and the largest in the world at over 10,000 employees.”
After his stint at USWeb/CKS/marchFIRST, Mr. Hawkins briefly held the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Lot21, a medium-sized online interactive agency. That company too was the victim of the dot.com bust and was eventually acquired by more established rivals.
In 2002, Mr. Hawkins started Hawkins Consulting to leverage his knowledge of both IT infrastructure support and website development best practices to bring best of breed service and support to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). Today, with employees in San Francisco, New York and Bangkok, Hawkins Consulting services a large array of clients in both the website development and IT support area. Clients are spread through out the US and Asia, in major cities: Bangkok, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and San Diego.
